Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Does my picture have to be taken digitally?
A: The park opened in 1971, years before digital cameras, so we accept photographs that have been scanned to a computer file. You may also send copies of your photographs to the mailing address.
Q: Can I send original photographs?
A: If you send originals by mail, please send an SASE with lots of return postage if you would like them returned (hopefully they won’t be lost in transit).
Q: How much can I attach to an email?
A: If your attachments are greater than 10MB, that will overload most email servers. Try to send multiple emails if your files go above this limit.
Q: What will you do with my photos?
A: The most likely destination is one of the galleries located on the site. The galleries will be grouped by subject, so that people can view and enjoy them.
Q: What are you looking for?
A: The site is new, so it’s up to you to help it grow. If you have something you don’t see on the site, please send it and we will try to make it fit.
Q: I have a great story to go with my photo. Will you publish it?
A: We would love to have your stories. The more you say, the more that can be done with it. Helpful things to include: Who is in the picture? Where you are from? What was happening at the moment of the picture? When did you go to the park (year)? Include any concrete details that might make your story more descriptive. You grant the right to edit, summarize, or combine with other stories, and also edit for non-family content.
Q: What are you not looking for?
A: Please do not send pictures that are not your own. This includes other people’s posted photographs from the internet. If a picture is found to belong to someone else, it will be removed.
