This photo was taken from the Liquid Lightning slide at Wildwater Kingdom. Let’s talk about what’s going on in this picture. First of all, the green overgrown treeline across the lake was (just) ten years ago filled with roller coasters and all that was Geauga Lake park. Nearer, in the middle of the lake are the remnants of the sets from water ski shows of the past. On the edge on this side of lake inside Wildwater Kingdom are four trees. Those trees are likely ten years old as well, because the plaza with the blue umbrellas is all that remains of SeaWorld of Ohio’s water ski stadium (the trees couldn’t have been there because they would have been in the way of the audience). Cedar Fair kept the stadium for several years after purchasing Six Flags. They really didn’t get the whole show thing, however. Large empty stadiums are pretty lonely and expensive to maintain, so it was torn down.
