Liquid Lightning. Another catchy name. It’s the blue and yellow funnel you see in the background. This picture is taken from the main walkway into the park, across the Splash Landing kids area. During the SeaWorld of Ohio era, this picture would have been blocked by the Nautilus Stadium where the bird shows were held.

It’s hard to explain how big this thing is. SeaWorld was a park full of giant stadiums. This was taller than the Water Ski Stadium when finished. I didn’t ride it myself, but people sounded like they were having fun when they plunged out of the chute.

The Wildwater Kingdom side of the park opened in 2005 and you can kind of imagine the Cedar Fair people listening to the presentation in some boardroom for the park redesign. “It’ll be big! One of the biggest waterslides in Ohio! The kids will drag their parents over to the waterpark just to ride!” Cedar Fair loves rides that are big and fast. However, Wildwater Kingdom never met the expectations for it.
